His Excellency , Secretary of State of the United States of America, Mr. Mike Pompeo the Honourable,
Subject: A request to designate the Syrian National Army of the Syrian National Opposition Coalition within the lists of international terrorism, as the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Sham Liberation Organization.
His Excellency,
Recently, a statement was issued by your esteemed ministry regarding the designation of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The counterterrorism authorities (Executive Order No. 13224 ), designated the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. The criteria by which the IRGC was classified as a terrorist organization the same applies to the armed terrorist groups which called the Syrian National Army, which controls the Syrian region of Afrin with Kurdish identity and privacy.
On the one hand, because this army is a mixture of the remnants of the global terrorist radical organizations, such as Al-Nossra and Al-Qaeda organization, which poses a threat to international peace and poses a direct threat to the supporters of freedom and peace in the world. On the other hand, the fact that the crimes which are committed by the Syrian national army against the Kurdish population are no less horrifying than the crimes which are committed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. And maybe these crimes are more awful and criminal than are committed by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps , because these crimes rise up to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity , in accordance with the testimony and the report issued by the International Commission of Inquiry on Syria on 28/2/2019 and submitted to the UN Human Rights Council at its 40th session. As well as the report which is issued by Amnesty International on February 26, 2019, in which the so-called Syrian National Army was explicitly accused of committing war crimes in the Afrin region.
Therefore, according to all what have been reported above , we as Human rights and civil organisations appeal Your Excellency to:
_ Including the Syrian National Army on the lists of international terrorism, in accordance with Chapter 219 of the US Citizenship and Immigration Law.
_ Working on removing and expelling the Syrian National Terrorist Army from the area of Afrin and end the Turkish occupation there.
_ Imposing diplomatic, economic and military sanctions on countries, organizations, and individuals that deal with this terrorist army.
